Primary Roles:

  • Focusing on project management and technical quality assurance as per assigned responsibilities.
  • Managing a partner-implemented climate change component within a larger consortium project, with CESVI as a partner. It focuses on enhancing the climate resilience of vulnerable households in KP through an integrated approach encompassing livelihood, food security, agriculture, and disaster risk reduction (DRR).
  • Implementing activities and maintaining partnerships through a gender-responsive and nutrition-sensitive lens while mainstreaming protection, accountability, and Do No Harm principles.
  • Coordinating between CESVI, consortium lead, consortium partners, implementing partners, and major stakeholders.
  • Ensuring smooth project implementation and donor compliance on behalf of CESVI.
  • Providing technical and managerial support to the implementing partner.
  • Frequent travel within KP districts, including extended field trips.

Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for effective project implementation and appropriate use of funds and resources in close coordination with partners.
  • Overseeing planning, implementation, and closing of projects/interventions, ensuring timely and effective communication and technical support.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, risks, and project communication.
  • Managing relationships with external entities, such as implementation partners, vendors, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring mutual benefits.

Core Areas of Responsibilities

Technical Inputs:

  • Providing strategic direction and technical leadership in a comprehensive climate change adaptation in Agriculture and Livelihood project.
  • Collaborating with partners and the CESVI team to provide technical support in climate-smart agriculture interventions.
  • Frequent field visits for program monitoring and assistance to partner field teams.
  • Assisting in strategic direction, quality program design, implementation, and accountability.
  • Ensuring project quality, effectiveness, and adherence to humanitarian and technical standards, donor requirements, and CESVI\'s mission.
  • Providing technical guidance in developing and implementing Early Warning Systems and Anticipatory Actions to mitigate climate risks.
  • Steering agricultural interventions that enhance resilience, including watershed management strategies and integrated pest management.
  • Experienced in nurturing home-based food sources through kitchen gardening initiatives.
  •   Demonstrated success in cultivating climate-resilient varieties of crops, vegetables, and fruits, coupled with the integration of agroforestry principles.
  • Applied knowledge of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) techniques to bolster crop improvements and ensure sustainable farming practices.

Management:

  • Overseeing project management, including financial, stakeholder, and quality management.
  • Ensuring adherence to project planning, budgets, partnership agreements, and compliance with donor guidelines.
  • Collaborating with Finance, MEAL, and Logistics teams for budget analysis, project monitoring, and procurement processes.
  • Managing project teams, including coordinators and Finance, logistics, and MEAL colleagues.

Compliance:

  • Preparing and reviewing project reports, ensuring quality assurance, and compliance with donor and CESVI standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with consortium and partner agreements.

Coordination:

  • Coordinating with external stakeholders and project teams to achieve grant objectives and compliance.
  • Representing the team at meetings and conferences, providing updates and critical analyses.

Partnerships:

  • Facilitating capacity building for both CESVI and partner staff.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, including government actors and NGOs.
  • Managing partnerships internally and externally.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Providing technical assistance or support upon request.
  • Supporting field visits, hosting events, and conducting policy research.
  • Engaging stakeholders for climate change adaptation strategy integration.
