Role/Responsibilities:

 Under the guidance and supervision of the Technical Manager and Project Coordinator, the Field Engineer will be responsible for the rehabilitation of tube well-based water supply systems for agricultural purposes with following deliverables

  • Identification and selection of suitable sites for tube well rehabilitation according to the project criteria.
  • Conducting comprehensive feasibility studies to assess the viability of selected sites.
  • Developing detailed designs for tube well-based water supply systems.
  • Preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for all project components according to the provided rates of services and material
  • Daily based monitoring of field work and reporting to technical supervisor.
  • Inspection of supplies and materials and ensuring that the quality and quantity of material is according to approved technical specifications
  • Daily based recording of consumed material and services data and reporting to technical supervisor
  • Monitoring of civil work and ensuring the engineering compliances in all respects
  • Ensuring that the engaged labour in CESVI work is respecting all the organizational and state laws and policies
  • Planning the supplies and rehabilitation work and assigning to vendor under the supervision of technical supervisor
  • Report to and discuss with the supervisor any technical issues which may have a direct impact on the general implementation of the project or of the organizations' activities in the area
  • In general, daily report work progress, and technical issues to the supervisor
  • Supervise the construction works
  • Make sure that good, DRR-compliant and sustainable construction techniques and quality standards are always applied to the construction works she/he is supervising
  • Contribute in any other phases of the project like community mobilization, activities’ monitoring and assessment surveys and data collection.
  • Based on an accurate knowledge of CESVI mandate and country strategy, the field engineer will be requested during the implementation of the field activities and any other phase of the project’s implementation - to help the senior staff find and propose areas and sectors for possible future interventions.
  • Help design, organize and implement data-collection surveys 
  • Any other job-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
