Job Purpose: The Community development Officer will be responsible to implement the social mobilization approach of programmes in line with Organization strategy to empower communities in the target areas, especially women and children, so that they are more aware about their entitlements including social, economic and civil rights. The CDO will also support Organization WASH & Livelihood interventions which aim to ensure general communities (especially women and children) in the areas, are able to live in an environment in which their rights are protected.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Facilitate  the overall social mobilization activities at field level
  • Conduct initial contacts/broad based community meetings (BBCM) / stake holders workshop at community level for introduction of project in the targeted village
  • Formation /reactivation/strengthen of community organization (COs)/VOs and subcommittees in the project area as per need.
  • Capacity building of the community organization through orientation and in house trainings. (CMST, LMST) etc.
  • Assist in conducting needs assessment / base line / surveys for data collection in the defined project areas
  •  Assist in identification & prioritization of most vulnerable / marginalized villages
  •  Ensure Beneficiaries Selection Procedure and understood the criteria.
  • Inform the beneficiaries for distribution.
  • Resolve conflict among the target community through effective dialogues.
  • Assist Livelihood officer in identification of in-kind/Cash grants for potential entrepreneurs.
  • Ensure inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups in project interventions.
  • Proper record keeping of project activities at community & office level both in soft & hard form.
  •  Conduction of international and special days (Global hand washing day, world Toilet day etc.) & health Hygiene sessions at community & school level.
  • Develop case studies to reflect project impacts.
  • Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly work plans.
  • Ensure the timely submission of activities reports.
  • Assist in preparation of weekly / monthly work plans against PMT (performance measured time frame) by ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in stipulated time period.
  • Assist in extending support to MEAL / MIS / Communications staff for gathering desired information.
  • Ensure availability of up to date info in MIS on regular basis with consultation of MIS / M&E.
  • Close coordination with line manager for effective implementation of project activities.

Person Specification: It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the organizational values & principles, vision and mission as well as commitment to its PSEAH (preventing sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. Qualification: Bachelor/Master Degree in social Sciences

Experience: The candidate must have a minimum of Six months experience with Master's or Bachelor's degree

 Language: 

Urdu, English and local languages

Computer: Command on MS Office, use of internet and emails
