Center for Research in Urdu Language Processing (CRULP), FAST-NU

The Center for Research in Urdu Language Processing (CRULP) was created in 2001 at National University of Computers and Emerging Sciences. It was formed specifically to address local language support for Urdu and other Pakistani languages. The center has worked extensively on Urdu linguistics, standardization for computing, and modeling of script, speech and language. Research is being conducted on all aspects of Urdu, including acoustic phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and grammar and semantics.

Our Objectives are:

- To evolve computational models of Urdu and regional languages
- To participate in standardization efforts in Urdu and regional languages
- To conduct research in the linguistic aspects of Urdu and regional languages
- To promote and assist in content development for Urdu and regional languages

Center for Research in Urdu Language Processing is providing platform for the concerned researchers to put their efforts together for advancement in Urdu language computation and standards development.
