Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursements, and handling insurance billing and follow-ups. This role requires strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, insurance policies, and coding standards (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).

Key Responsibilities:

Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Review claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations.
Resolve claim denials and rejections by investigating and appealing as necessary.
Follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims and ensure timely reimbursements.
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before claim submission.
Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and payments.
Work closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
Stay updated on medical coding changes, insurance policies, and industry regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

1–3 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management.
Knowledge of medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, Epic, eClinicalWorks).
Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes, and insurance guidelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
