About the Role

As a Product Designer at DAO, your foremost responsibility would be to solve user problems. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and product designers to iterate and build a usable, useful, and delightful experience for the digital products of the company. You'll engage across all stages of the project, using your skills in design conception, product research, interactive prototyping, information design, workshop facilitation, and research.

What You'll Do

  • Be able to critically analyze & evaluate the existing user flows and pain points of the current system to develop better design solutions.
  • Craft intuitive and scalable design-system components to be deployed into the digital ecosystem of DAO.
  • Be able to quickly draft wireframes and user journeys for individual features of the system.
  • Effectively build high-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and visual designs based on our UI framework to tackle difficult underlying UX problems in our product.
  • Design meaningful, aesthetically pleasing, and highly interactive web/mobile digital interfaces.
  • Analyze raw data and transform actionable insights into meaningful system-wide features.
  • Work with product managers to analyse & define requirements and not just translate them to design.
  • Be able to prioritize individual product features based on the user needs & technical feasibility during the product release life cycle
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and team members. Be an active part of strategic product design discussions for successful growth and increased business. Think strategically about the business at a high level and how new ideas fit in.
  • Provide design handoffs and development resources effectively & in a timely manner to the development team.
  • Convert and adapt visual interfaces as per various digital medium requirements.
  • Present static information/data in a more visually engaging and interactive manner.
  • Be able to effectively utilize other design practices such as user testing, quality assurance, design evaluation, user journeys, brainstorming, mind mapping, etc.

What we are looking for

  • You have the ability to cultivate a shared understanding of the user-centred approach between the Design, Content, Product, and Engineering team.
  • You are  aware of atomic design and scalable design systems
  • You know the digital design craft in and out and are able to differentiate between better and best design - we’re not even discussing ‘bad design’.
  • You can look at the bigger picture and analyze the product ecosystem from a holistic lens.
  • You are a craftsman who can create elegant and compelling designs, over and over.
  • You're a walking encyclopedia of micro-interactions in use (on mobile, web, desktop, etc), and have nuanced views on how to make many of them even better.
  • You follow a strategic approach to quickly spot patterns and issues and be able to analyze what details matter at each stage of the design process and translate actionable insights from research into meaningful action.
  • You substantially contribute to defining the 'what' as well as the 'how'. You're a product manager's secret weapon. You thrive best when helping to define the requirements, not just translating them into designs. You facilitate and draw the best design ideas from teammates.
  • You can think and talk about the bottom line. Analytics don't scare you, and you know which features can act as force multipliers on our product
  • You are a curious soul who is always on the lookout for effective/better digital tools and out-of-the-box solutions.
  • You have outstanding communication skills and can effectively communicate your ideas to the stakeholders and team members.

 Must Haves

  • Proven work experience of at least 5  years as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • Case study portfolio highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of web development, web apps and technology infrastructure.
  • Have previously worked on designing and utilising scalable design systems.
  • Excellent command over wireframe and collaborative visual design tools (e.g. Moqups, Figma, UXPin, XD, Miro, InVision, Mural).
  • Strong command over visual interface design and interactive prototyping tools: XD, Sketch, Figma, ProtoPie, Framer, etc.
  • Proficient in other design software  like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Team spirit, and strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Good time-management skills.
