We are currently looking to add an experienced bookkeeper/accountant to our team.

This role requires a strong understanding of tax principles, proficiency in bookkeeping, and expertise in UK VAT regulations.

Responsibilities:

Requesting required paperwork/records from clients.
Bookkeeping for a variety of clients using accounting software (VT, Sage, QB etc.)
Preparation of VAT returns for Ltd companies/Sole traders.
Reconciling various control accounts, such as bank accounts, sales ledgers, purchase ledgers, etc.
Addressing any queries with a client that arise during the bookkeeping.
Organising workload to ensure strict deadlines are met.
Communicating with HMRC VAT office when required.
Assisting senior accountants

Requirements:

Minimum of one years experience working with a UK based accounting firm
Must have UK tax and accounts knowledge and individuals with relevant experience ONLY are eligible to apply
Must have knowledge of all UK VAT schemes
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products including One Drive
Proficiency in using accounting software especially VT
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulations.
Practical knowledge and understanding of VAT schemes and Corporation tax.
Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QB, Capium, HubDocs etc) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to analyse financial data and produce accurate reports.
