The Assistant Accountant plays a crucial role at Global Star Group by providing essential support to the accounting department. This position involves performing a variety of accounting functions that contribute to the overall financial health of the company. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, complemented by proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and SAP. With a focus on accuracy and attention to detail, the Assistant Accountant will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the accounting team in various tasks. This role does not involve managing a team but requires strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with accounting principles and standards.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts to maintain accuracy in financial reporting.
- Support the monthly and annual closing processes by gathering and organizing necessary financial data.
- Prepare and assist with financial audits by providing requested documentation and answering inquiries.
- Utilize accounting software to input data, generate reports, and analyze financial information.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to address any financial discrepancies or inquiries.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting by maintaining relevant financial data and providing analysis.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department.
