Position Overview:

The Monitoring Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation and evaluation of the "Climate Resilient WASH: An Integrated Approach to Sustainable Solutions" project. This position involves developing monitoring frameworks, conducting field visits to assess project progress, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and organizational policies. The Monitoring Officer will collaborate with project teams and local stakeholders to collect data, analyze performance, and provide actionable insights to improve project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring Framework Development:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework aligned with project objectives and indicators.
    • Create data collection tools and methodologies to ensure accurate and reliable monitoring.
  2. Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Conduct regular field visits to gather data on project activities, outputs, and outcomes.
    • Analyze collected data to assess project performance, identify trends, and highlight areas for improvement.
    • Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, challenges, and recommendations for the project team and stakeholders.
  3. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that project activities adhere to organizational policies, donor requirements, and quality standards.
    • Conduct quality control checks on project deliverables to ensure they meet established criteria.
    • Identify potential risks or issues and work with the project team to develop mitigation strategies.
  4. Capacity Building and Training:
    • Provide training and support to project staff and community members on M&E processes and best practices.
    • Facilitate workshops to enhance the understanding of monitoring and evaluation among project stakeholders.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure their participation in the monitoring process.
    • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to gather feedback and address concerns related to project implementation.
  6. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare regular progress reports for the Project Manager, highlighting key findings, lessons learned, and recommendations.
    • Document success stories and case studies to showcase project impact and best practices.
    • Maintain organized records of monitoring activities, including data sets, reports, and correspondence.
