We are seeking for talented and dedicated Accountability Officer in MEAL unit, to join our team and help us achieve our vision and mission.

Position Description:

The Accountability Officer will play a crucial role effectively managing complaints received from accountability hot line number and record information in a timely and professional manner while ensuring complete confidentiality in database. Respond and communicate with the beneficiaries in a dignified manner regarding their complaints/feedback. Review and track the closing of complaints by ensuring every complaint is processed and appropriate response is generated and responded to the complainant. This role involves designing and implementing accountability framework, collecting and analyzing data, and providing actionable insights to improve our programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle complaints as per MEAL guidelines and share the information with supervisor.
  • Makes sure that complaints are logged in a professional and timely manner with confidentiality.
  • Keeps regular follow up of complaints and updates complaint database on daily basis. Should be well versed on categories of feedbacks and responses
  • Ensure visibility of accountability standards along with accountability channel details (hotline, SMS, email etc.) at all regions program/project sites.
  • Support in sensitizing community members on the feedback response mechanisms and how to use it.
  • Support in identifying complaint and other feedback trends which indicate the area of program improvement.
  • Support in providing reports concerning complaints and other beneficiary feedbacks.
  • Ensure timely submission of workplans and ensure the data entry in all relevant tools
  • Support to MEAL team in meetings, field monitoring visits and other MEAL related activities. 
  • Collaborate with MEAL team to create MEAL plans that include clear objectives, indicators, data collection methods, and timelines.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze data from various sources to measure program performance and impact. This may include surveys, interviews, focus groups, and quantitative data.
  • Prepare regular MEAL reports that highlight key findings, trends, and recommendations for program improvement. Present findings to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure data quality and reliability by implementing data validation checks and analyses.
  • Facilitate feedback loops within the organization to promote learning and adaptation based on MEAL findings.
  • Coordinate and participate in studies, including baseline and endline assessments, and impact evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain a robust data management system, including data storage, retrieval, and security protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirement

Qualification:                                                

Masters in development studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, Project Management and/or bachelor’s in data sciences with minimum of 2-3 years of experience in management and/or MEAL/accountability experience in a both emergency and development contexts.

Skill Set:                               

  • At least five (3) years of work experience on similarly position.
  • Experience in data collection, data management, and analysis is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of information and communications technology.
  • Good level of computer proficiency and ability to use MS-Office (in particular Excel)
  • Excellent computer skills, including developing graphics for presentation materials; and Good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Good skills in capturing, analyzing, managing, retrieving and disseminating information effectively using appropriate information systems;
  • Good skills in developing a variety of written materials for audiences with different levels of understanding to the materials or subject matters presented;
