Human Development Foundation (HDF) was founded in 1997 by the Pakistani diaspora in North America as a gift to homeland on its 50th anniversary, with a passion to pay back to the communities they belong to. Over past 24 year, HDF has positively impacted lives of 3.4 million fellow countrymen through direct service delivery in the areas of Education & Literacy, Primary Healthcare, Livelihood & Food Security, Sustainable Environment and Disaster Response with its physical footprint in 91 Tehsils of 53 Districts from AJK till Tharparkar.
Overall goal of the HDF primary Healthcare program is “To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages” through establishment of Community Health Centre (CHC) to provide curative and preventive healthcare services in its catchment area. These CHCs are directly managed by the qualified doctor and team of paramedics and field staff.
Position Description
The Program Specialist Health will have the responsibility of developing program strategies and plans that align with the National / Sustainable Development Goals and Objectives in the health sector. He /She will conduct research and analysis to identify best practices and innovative approaches. The specialist will provide technical guidance and management support throughout the program lifecycle to facilitate the achievement of results in health programs/projects to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being in HDF’s catchment area.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Planning
Submission of one proposal per month to secure projects under the health program.
Provide consistent technical support & strategic direction to program and regional teams (from head office to regions) ensuring all agreed standards of quality program delivery including commitments (donor/system compliance), clarity of expected change (both internally and at partners’ levels) are met keeping women empowerment and self-accountability to the forefront.
Provide technical leadership in program development, innovation, and technology infusion.
Provide support in annual operational planning & budgeting of health program with consultation of field teams
Provide technical support and explore possibilities for the expansion of HDF’s health program
Design and develop proposals for introducing new and innovative program and projects related to health interventions
Ensure high quality accountability, and transparency in the procurement of services, health materials, medicines goods etc. for CHCs
Development & Review of HDF Health Policy
Development of IEC material for the health program
Liaison with stakeholders
Reporting & Monitoring:
Plan and collaborate with MEAL colleagues and external partners to establish monitoring benchmarks, key performance indicators to strengthen performance accountability and delivery of concrete and sustainable results.
Prepare, or as appropriate, supervise the preparation of, progress reports, quarterly reports, and other reports that may be required by the stakeholders/donors and Head office (HO),
Respond to all interventions in a timely manner, ensuring as far as reasonably possible that all timelines should be met,
Responsible for maintaining the complete record of all projects relevant to Health and other assigned projects
Ensure periodic Monitoring of the Health staff and program
Compliance and Human Resource Management
Supervise health staff in the performance of their respective duties and ensure the efficient functioning of all health program interventions
