Job Duties:
- Research individuals, corporations, and foundations that are interested in partnerships and donations.
- Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs and meet potential donors.
- Through public-facing communication, develop and maintain a positive public image for the organization.
- Write grant applications and fundraising proposals.
- Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns.
- Collaborates with marketing and advertising staff to ensure marketing campaigns are consistent with the organization’s public image.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, or guidelines related to fundraising.
- In conjunction with the Treasurer keep records relating to fundraising monies.
- Provide weekly updates to the committee regarding fundraising duties and events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, or a related field is typically required.
- Previous experience in public relations, fundraising, or a related field is highly desirable.
- This could include work in nonprofit organizations, PR agencies, or corporate communication departments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- The ability to craft compelling messages, write press releases, create fundraising materials, and effectively communicate with various stakeholders is crucial.
- Strong interpersonal skills are needed to build relationships with donors, sponsors, media outlets, and other relevant parties.
- Knowledge of public relations principles and practices is important.
- Understanding how to develop and execute PR campaigns, manage media relations, and handle crisis communications is valuable.
