Assistant Officer Water Resource Management / WASH

• Assist WRM & WASH Specialist in all water and WASH related interventions & research across Pakistan.
• Assist WRM & WASH Specialist supervision of all water quality monitoring activities in all areas of interventions.
• Producing innovative ideas to ensure climate resilient water resources management across all interventions.
• Coordination with technical teams across IR Pakistan to ensure quality interventions and track the progress of WRM and WASH activities.
• Record keep of all activities related to WRM, WASH and CPI.
• Facilitate monthly meetings between technical teams and WRM & WASH specialists, recording meeting minutes and sharing with team.
• Exercise corrective measure (water treatment) for purification of water at source by ensuring safety standards
• Ensure regular monitoring of water (post treatment) & treatment facilities to minimize the risks to public health
• Ensure to deal with waste water issues and its possible local solution for the communities IRP dealing with
• Conduct Environmental impact assessment (pre & post implementation) and devise mitigation strategies i.e. to avoid natural / manmade hazards (salt range, graveyard etc) that can risk human life & ensure safety to environmental protection accordingly.
• Conduct awareness sessions for communities on the management of waste water and how to deal with contamination, desalination, disinfection & other issues that cause risks to human health (water borne diseases).
• Capacity building of communities on water treatment at house hold level.
• Capacity building of Field Teams/Technical staff on water quality surveillance/Water safety planning/Water quality analysis and proper Water treatment at small and large scale.

Person Specification

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to Islamic Relief Worldwide's vision, mission as well as commitment to its SEAH (sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. Qualification:

Bachelor / Master degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences/ relevant field.

Experience:

Minimum experience of similar role in NGO setup:

2 years with Bachelor degree and/or 1 year with Master degree

Computer Skills:

MS Office, Outlook, ERP systems familiarity

Language:

Urdu, Pushto & English

• Able to work under extreme conditions in field areas.
