The incumbent will be responsible for implementing the Community Mobilization activity under the SAFE-funded project in line with IRP strategy to empower communities in the target areas. The CM will also support Livelihood interventions, which aim to ensure that communities in the areas are able to live in an environment where their rights are protected.

Technical Level

  • Implementation of project/programme activities as per business process & project documents.

  • Capacity building of communities.
  • Mobilization of communities for the best fattening of animals.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, UNIT-4 systems.

  • Development of work plans for timely implementation.
  • Surveys, data collection, and identification of poor farmers with experience in animal rearing.
  • Communication, planning & scheduling, time, stress & conflict management, situation handling, leadership skills, people & team management.

Scope of the Role

  • Support & conduct targeted assessments and surveys on a timely basis.
  • Implement the prepared plan accordingly and on-time reporting of the overall activities being undertaken at the field level.
  • Coordinate logistics and transportation activities for the distribution of project deliverables, i.e., animal handover and takeover.
  • Identify any gaps or shortcomings in the project targets at the field level.
  • Extend support to IRP Seasonal Programme activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The following are the main responsibilities that the role holder will be accountable for:

  • Keep close coordination with the existing social structure and stakeholders in the project area for smooth execution of project activities.
  • Have a good understanding of the Islamic Relief system, its operation, and its different sectors.
  • Resolve conflict among the target community through effective dialogues.
  • Identify vulnerable groups, particularly women, i.e., widows, divorced, separated, and female-headed households, and young girls for the provision of grants and other support.
  • Ensure the inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups in project interventions.
  • Maintain proper record-keeping of project activities at both the community and office levels in both soft and hard form.
  • Conduct regular meetings with community organizations and ensure community ownership of project activities.
  • Participate in need assessments, participatory rural appraisals, feasibility studies, stakeholder analyses, and community consultations.
  • Elaborate all needs-based inputs and other activities according to the objectives of the program and the beneficiary involvement strategy.
  • Mobilize the community for the effective use of community resources.
  • Mobilize communities to prioritize recovery activities and strategies.
  • Maximize beneficiary contributions.
  • Participate in distributions whenever required.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of all villages of intervention and maintain close contact with community leaders and volunteers.
  • Support and supervise project volunteers and give them useful instructions regarding their work improvement through coordination with relevant skilled staff.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and support to individuals targeted by each project in line with the program strategy and intended output.
  • Ensure on-time completion of tasks in line with guidance.
  • Supervise the unloading of materials on site as well as the quality and quantity of the items.
  • Ensure the timely submission of activity completion reports for the project.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor as and when required.
