KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The following are the main responsibilities that the role holder will be accountable for:

Technical

  • Working in close coordination with District Coordinator, programme team and MEAL team to ensure routine project related assessments are executed and monthly quarterly and final reports are submitted timely and implementation and exit strategies are developed.
  • Contribute to and facilitate a programme of results-based gender, protection and disability programming through a consultative process with sector and/or cluster partners.
  • Ensure that or organization protective, Inclusive and safeguarding approaches to programming are consistently applied through community-based protection methods.
  • Build/ strengthen active partnerships with relevant government agencies, GBVs, safeguarding/PSEAH protection and disability specialized NGOs/ CSOs partners, and strengthen referral systems in areas of disability, Child protection and GBV;
  • Network with key external stakeholders to find areas of collaboration, best practice, innovation, knowledge sharing and partnerships.
  • Identify training needs and build the capacity of organizations local staff on safeguarding, gender, and disability inclusion and protection components.
  • Ensure data collection mechanisms are in place and data is collected and analyzed periodically
  • Conduct conflict sensitivity analysis exercise with relevant stakeholders and ensure Or programmes “Do no harm” in their communities.
  • Ensure gender, age and diversity analysis is done and updated regularly to respond to beneficiaries needs
  • Provide technical support on disability inclusion and protection for new bids and proposals to ensure it is weaved into planning phase.
  • Proactively exchange learning and synergy with all involved stakeholders.
  • Drafts relevant sections of reports required for donors and management.
  • Collaborate with Monitoring and Evaluation personnel for timely evaluation of projects.
  • Participate and influence external platforms on safeguarding, disability, protection and inclusivity.
  • Conduct regular field visits with 80% time in field and 20% for reporting.

Operational

  • Ensure organization member and mission from organization are fully briefed on all aspects of security, social and cultural norms and local conditions and behaviour;
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with other NGO’s, UN agencies, provincial and local government, bilateral and multilateral donors, and other principle stakeholders including the military where present;
  • Create the conditions to ensure effective teamwork and morale.
  • Ensure all project staff understand and carry out their duties in accordance with Protection & Inclusion, humanitarian principles, core values, organization International Code and SPHERE.
  • Ensure the Area Management and are kept informed about assessment progress, emergency response implementation and strategies, project plans, progress reports, and other significant developments.

Organizational

  • Ensure compliance with IR’s policies & procedures in true spirit for effective delivery of services.
  • Understanding of IR values and their demonstration in real time.
  • Abide by the IR zero tolerance policy towards bribery & corruption as well as sensitize others on coping mechanism so that they can raise voice as & when feel inappropriate.
  • Thorough knowledge of IR strategic priorities & the way you can contribute in its achievement.
  • Assist in identification & documentation of organizational successes for show casing IR work
  • Facilitate the organizational stance on clime change through adaptation of environment friendly & cost effective approaches in your domain.
  • Respect & promote the organizational stance on work force diversity & support the efforts being made for mainstreaming of marginalized groups i.e. Persons with disability and old age, minorities, Women & children etc. in carrying out organization activities.
  • Ensure periodic field visits to witness the challenges and implementation of activities at ground level.
  • Participation and facilitation in implementation of IR seasonal programmes. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the organizational values & principles, vision and mission as well as commitment to its SEAH (sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. We have zero tolerance policy towards SEAH and doesn’t support any action that promote or encourage SEAH.

Qualification & Experience:

  • University degree in one of the relevant areas- Sociology, International Law, Human Rights, or Social Science, Doctor of psychotherapy.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 05 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and preferably 03 years of relevant professional work experience in disability, disability inclusive MNCH, human rights issues, protection and/ or child protection and GBV. Working in emergency or conflict situations is an asset.
