General Position Summary:

The Project Officer Trainings and Grants is responsible for day-to-day implementation of project vocational training component implementation in WTTC Quetta. The Project Officer will work closely both with project management and support teams (including finance, administration, and program) in organization to ensure that vocational training component activities at WTTC Quetta are implemented according to schedule, budget and required quality. 

The Project Officer will assist the Senior Project Officer in outlining a strategic plan for the implementation of project including identifying methods of operation for effective programming and maximum results. S/He will work closely with the project team as well as government counterparts to ensure proper implementation of activities. S/He will also ensure that all project vocational training female staff maintain and follow monthly work plans and monthly data recording and reporting is completed.

Essential Job Function:

The Project Officer Training and Grants will be responsible, in conjunction with the Senior Livelihood Officer, for implementing the vocational training component of Project at WTTC Quetta that will provide vocational skills training to female Afghan refugees and host communities:

  • Support selection committee in identifying the recipients of vocational training in target locations of Quetta and Pishin among the Afghan refugee and host communities
  • Developing appropriate training package, in collaboration with the WTTC Quetta for the target participants
  • Coordinate with Principal WTTC Quetta for smooth implementation of vocational training in WTTC Quetta
  • Ensuring recipients are linked with local markets and have adequate knowledge to make market-based decisions
  • Ensure that objectives and indicators as outlined in the grant agreement are met in time
  • Work closely with MEL Unit to ensure necessary data and indicators related to vocational training component of the project are being tracked
  • Support selection committee in identifying the graduates of vocational training from all trades among the Afghan refugee and host communities for provision of cash grants for business purposes
  • Ensure the availability of data of graduated trainees (female) who have successfully secured the job.
  • Responsible to maintain the training component data/documents as preorganization and donor requirement
  • Follow all SOPs on Safety and Security while conducting the activities in the assigned areas of catchment of Population (WTTC Quetta/ community/office)
  • Attend all refresher training sessions and meetings with other members of the project as required
  • Conduct herself professionally and personally in such a manner so as to bring credit to organization and in no way jeopardize its humanitarian efforts
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

ACCOUNTABILITY

Reports Directly To: Senior Project Officer Livelihood

Works Directly With: The teams and in close coordination with the Project staff, logistic & Admin officer, HR Officer, and Senior Finance Officer.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters degree in social sciences or related subject(s)
  • 3 years’ experience of managing vocational training programs, strategic planning, managing training programs.
  • Excellent report writing skills required.
  • Track record of maintaining liaison with governmental and non-governmental partners.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English. Fluency in local languages will be an asset.
