Responsibilities: 

Advocate the health care message in the community and activley engage community primary health care and thus making an impact in their social and behaviour change.

  • Conduct regular visits to households, engaging with families to provide personalized health education, address concerns, assist LHVs and Vaccinators in outreach, and encourage vaccination.
  • Prioritize health awareness campaigns related to Polio and other VPDs, aiming to increase vaccination coverage and reduce vaccine hesitancy.
  • Dispell rumors and misconceptions including but not limited to vaccine hesistancy.
  • Adress broader health issues, including nutrition, water and sanitation hygiene, and other cross-cutting healthcare topics.
  • Conduct Group counseling sessions to facilitate open discussions, allowing community members to share experiences, ask questions, and receive collective support.
  • Participate in community group meetings, ensuring that health messages are disseminated effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Participate in the surveillance of acute flaccid paralysis and other communicable diseases, contributing valuable information to the broader public health system.
  • Provide appropriate help to conduct outreach sessions during precampaign,campaign and postcampagin phase in order to strenghten EPI and PEI structure.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local organizations, and leaders. Act as a liaison between the public health organization and the community to ensure effective communication.
  • Conduct assessments to understand the specific health needs and concerns of the community. Gather data on existing health disparities, barriers to access, and areas of improvement
  • Connect community members with available health services, programs, and resources. Facilitate access to healthcare providers, vaccination clinics, health screenings, and other relevant services
  • Conduct educational workshops and training sessions on relevant health topics at key sites such as mosques,schools and festivals. Provide information on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and the importance of regular health check-ups.
  • Organize health-related events, fairs, and workshops to raise awareness and engage the community. Collaborate with local organizations to maximize outreach effort
  • Be prepared to respond to health crises or emergencies by disseminating timely and accurate information and coordinating support services
  • Any other task assigned by TLM
