Reports to: Livelihood Officer

Job Purpose: The position holder will assist the livelihood officer to plan & implement all On-farm and Off-Farm vocational and enterprise development/micro-enterprises activities and support developing community led strategy for the implementation of the development project such as FSL & Climate Change adaptation to reduce poverty

Key Accountabilities:

  • To assist Livelihood Officer in development of Business process such as Detailed Implementation Plan, Procurement and Communication plan
  • To support Livelihood officer to aligned activities with Detailed Implementation Plan, Procurement and Communication plan.
  • To complete beneficiaries tracking sheet to classify vulnerability.
  • To conduct households surveys in collaboration with Community organizations to ascertain household vulnerability and wellbeing.
  • To assist livelihood officer in needs assessments report of the operational areas for livelihood interventions.
  • To collection data of family’s choice and interest on different adaptive livelihoods options and opportunities considering physical facilities and abilities with support of MEAL.
  • To Identify and register climate vulnerable extreme poor individuals/households for vocational trainings and enterprise support.
  • To implement On-farm and Off-farm trainings and micro enterprise activities under the project plan.
  • To document all progress, challenges, and learning for future implementation of the similar projects and accountability.
  • To conduct regular field visits to verify quality/ progress of Livelihood program interventions and provide technical guidance and advices
  • To establish technical and vocational skills centre in rural and urban areas.
  • To assist in designing training course content and tool kits for different trades with consultation of various stakeholders
  • To conduct market assessment for vocational trainings / tool kits and to develop market linkages
  • To facilitate right holders to develop business plans of their respective livelihood interventions/ enterprises.
  • To design grants packages inform of Cash or in-kind for different enterprises in consultation with livelihood officer.
  • To identify resource person/institutes for trainings.
  • Follow up of enterprises supported by the project interventions.
  • To develop linkages and networking with Government line departments such as Agriculture, livestock, TVET and Other technical service providers  
  • To demonstrate good practices on adaptive livelihoods/IGAs activities such as climate smart agriculture practices.
  • To establish or support Farmer Field Labs (Demonstration plots on different climate smart crop-varieties)
  • To assess seasonal food insecurity, seasonality of income/employment and production lean season analysed and prepared seasonal map
  • To assist in designing of sustenance allowance package for immediate food security or to cope up with lean season.
  • To form community-based Self-help groups and apex bodies comprising of selected families are formed.
  • To engage and develop capacities of extension services in the target areas.
  •     Any duty assigned by line manager

Technical:

  • Capacitate community on knowledge and skills on interested and resilient livelihood options.
  • Established profitable and sustainable income generation activities (IGAs) as per the choice and interest of the targeted families.
  • Prepared IGA skills development plan and provided skill development training on families' chosen climate adaptive/resilient livelihood option.
  • Analysed family’s choice and interest on different adaptive livelihood options and opportunities considering physical facilities and abilities.
  • Seasonal food insecurity, seasonality of income/employment and production lean season analysed and prepared a seasonal map.
  • Directly responsible for smooth implementation and record management of livelihood interventions in field.
  • Support in new concept notes and proposal development (district level context).
  • Guide and manage team regarding project implementation.
  • Facilitate communities to implement the project interventions with sound background of livelihood project implementation/practical knowledge and its challenges in local context.
  • Maintain and establish strong connection/communication with line departments specifically livestock, agriculture, and social welfare departments.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate and support on advocacy related assignments with relevant departments and institutions.

Person Specification:

Qualification:

  • Master degree in business administration, social sciences, Agriculture / Livestock / BSc. with relevant job experience.
  • Diploma in Technical and Vocational Skills is preferable
  • Motivation and technical skills 
  • Evidence of Microenterprise development skills.
  • Evidence in development and Experience in Business Development Plans for different trades
  • Evidence in Market assessment for vocational trades / toolkits
  • Good interpersonal skills

Experience:

  • Relevant experience of 1 year with Master’s and/or 2 years with Bachelor’s
  • He or She must have experience of working in the development sector

Language:

  • Urdu, English and Local
