The Security Guard/Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, personnel, and visitors. This role involves monitoring and patrolling the property, enforcing safety protocols, responding to emergencies, and providing assistance to guests and employees as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Security and Surveillance:
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure the safety and security of the property.
- Check and secure all doors, windows, and gates.
Access Control:
- Manage and monitor access points to the facility.
- Verify the identification of employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Maintain a log of all entries and exits.
Incident Response:
- Respond promptly to alarms and security incidents.
- Investigate disturbances and report any suspicious activities.
- Provide first aid or assistance during emergencies.
Customer Service:
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they adhere to security protocols.
- Provide directions and information as needed.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
- Prepare detailed incident reports as required.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
Compliance:
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in training sessions and safety drills.
- Ensure all security equipment is functioning correctly.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in security or a related field is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong observational and surveillance skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations effectively.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Certifications: Security guard certification and/or relevant licenses as required by local regulations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform other physically demanding tasks as needed.
Working Conditions:
- May be required to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions during patrols.
- Potential for dealing with confrontational situations or emergencies.
