General Position Summary

The driver will provide safe, transport services for the Mercy Corps team. The driver will adhere to all traffic and safety rules and follow the Guidelines required by the Mercy Corps.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Operate Mercy Corps’ vehicles as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain the vehicle logbook in accordance with MC policies/regulations.
  • Check the vehicle conditions after/before each trip if needs maintenance report to the Operations department.
  • Check the vehicle mileage during the field visit.
  • Inform the supervisor of the vehicle’s required maintenance like Oil & Filter change etc.
  • Adhere to all safety and communication protocols as advised by Mercy Corps & supervisor.
  • Responsible for the safekeeping of all vehicle equipment including tools, first aid kits, spare parts, etc.
  • Keep the vehicle ready, clean, and on standby for any office activity.
  • Assist, as required with logistics in the office’s daily workloads.
  • Cooperate and be of assistance to staff and visitors – assist in troubleshooting potential problems during daily business.
  • Report all the maintenance needs of the vehicle to the Operations Officer on regular basis.
  • Responsible for loading & unloading official supplies/materials.
  • Undertake field assignments as assigned.
  • Work overtime at MC office (if required)– as assigned by the supervisor. 
  • Adherence to all MC policies and procedures as outlined in MC policies and procedure Manuals.
  • Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and in no way jeopardize its humanitarian efforts. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/ superiors.

Knowledge and Experience

  • At least Matric
  • Valid driving license
  • Driving experience of at least 05 years.
  • Good geographical & roads knowledge of Punjab
  • Working technical knowledge of vehicles and basic maintenance
  • Should be able to manage minor faults in the vehicle.
  • Good behavior with all the staff in a respectful, professional and gender-sensitive manner.
  • Locals will be given preference.
