POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Assistant Education will be responsible for the overall day-to-day implementation of the project accelerated learning curriculum program in 05 identified ALP-Centers. The Project Assistant will also work closely with 10 ALP tutors and will ensure the monitoring and support of ALP-Center during the project life. The Project Assistant-ALP reports to Project Coordinator Education.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct monitoring visits to ALP-Centers for tutors and students’ performance in class and fill checklists regularly in both hard and soft form.
  • Responsible to take data of enrolled, dropouts, attendance and results and share with DMO regularly on prescribed template.
  • Ensure the monitoring of Afghan Consulate, EDO, ADEO, Director schools and NFE in 05 ALP centers.
  • Providing support to procurement during distribution of uniforms, shoes, stationary, bags and books of ALP students
  • Identify area of improvements during visits of ALP-Centers and provide feedback to Project Coordinator and MEL
  • Lead and facilitate ALP tutors monthly review meetings and suggest area of improvements.
  • Strive and develop plan of action for making ALP as model centers.
  • Develop event reports, monthly assessments and success stories on a monthly and quarterly basis. 
  • Maintain and validate students and teachers’ attendance on monthly basis from centers registers.
  • Conduct final-term exams at the end of each term.
  • Coordinate regularly with 05 ALP tutors for smooth implementation of ALP course as per work plan.
  • Ensure that objectives and indicators as outlined in the grant agreement are met in time.
  • Actively coordinate with MEL to ensure that appropriate monitoring and impact assessment mechanisms and tools are being implemented.
  • Responsible to maintain project ALP centers documents as per organization's and donor requirement and share attendance and students’ data with MEL
  • Follow organization's SOPs on Safety and Security while conducting the activities in the assigned areas.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings with other members of the project as required.
  • Conduct him/herself professionally and personally in such a manner to bring credit to Mercy Corps and in no way jeopardize its humanitarian efforts.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by Project Coordinator and Manager
