• We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator with comprehensive expertise in Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Exchange, File Shares, SharePoint, MSSQL, and Windows patch management. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in managing and supporting complex IT environments, including performing migrations, upgrades, disaster recovery (DR) setups, and patch management. This role requires ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our systems and services.
    • Active Directory Management:
    • Administer and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and organizational units.
    • Implement and manage AD infrastructure, including replication, trust relationships, and security configurations.
    • Lead migration projects for AD to new domains, forests, or cloud-based environments.
    • Perform AD upgrades and ensure compatibility with other systems and applications.
    • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for AD, including backup strategies, failover processes, and recovery procedures.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve AD-related issues, including authentication and authorization problems.
    • Exchange Administration:
    • Manage and support Microsoft Exchange Server (on-premises and/or Exchange Online), including mailbox management, transport rules, and email routing.
    • Lead Exchange migration projects, including moves from on-premises to Exchange Online or between Exchange versions.
    • Plan and execute Exchange upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
    • Design and implement disaster recovery strategies for Exchange, including backup and restoration processes, high availability setups, and failover plans.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve email delivery issues, performance problems, and user-related issues.
    • File Share Management:
    • Oversee and maintain file share systems, including permissions, access controls, and data security.
    • Manage migration projects for file shares, including transitions to new storage solutions or cloud-based platforms.
    • Perform upgrades to file share systems, ensuring enhanced performance and security.
    • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for file shares, including backup strategies, replication, and recovery procedures.
    • Monitor and optimize file share performance and troubleshoot issues related to file access and storage.
    • SharePoint Administration:
    • Administer and support SharePoint environments, including site collections, libraries, lists, and user permissions.
    • Manage SharePoint migration projects, including upgrades from on-premises to SharePoint Online or between SharePoint versions.
    • Plan and execute SharePoint upgrades, ensuring system stability and feature compatibility.
    • Design and implement disaster recovery solutions for SharePoint, including backup strategies, failover configurations, and restoration processes.
    • Provide support for SharePoint users, addressing issues related to access, functionality, and performance.
    • MSSQL Server Management:
    • Administer Microsoft SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
    • Manage SQL Server migrations, upgrades, and patching to ensure optimal performance and security.
    • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for SQL Server, including backup and restore strategies and high availability solutions.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SQL Server performance, replication, and connectivity.
    • Windows Patch Management:
    • Implement and manage Windows patching strategies across all servers and workstations.
    • Develop and maintain patch deployment procedures, including testing, scheduling, and installation.
    • Monitor and report on patch compliance and address any vulnerabilities identified during patch assessments.
    • Ensure that all systems are up-to-date with security patches and updates to protect against threats.
    • General Responsibilities:
    • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, migration procedures, upgrade processes, disaster recovery plans, and patch management.
    • Implement best practices for system security, including regular patching, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
    • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for escalated issues as needed.
    • Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement new solutions and technologies.
    • Backup and Restore Management:
    • Design, implement, and manage backup solutions for all critical systems, including AD, Exchange, File Shares, SharePoint, and SQL Server.
    • Regularly test backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and recovery capabilities.
    • Develop and maintain backup schedules, retention policies, and disaster recovery plans.
    • Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot issues, and perform data restores as needed.
    • Disaster Recovery Drills:
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute regular disaster recovery (DR) drills to test and validate DR plans for AD, Exchange, File Shares, SharePoint, and SQL Server.
    • Identify and address gaps or weaknesses discovered during DR drills to enhance recovery capabilities.
    • Document and report on DR drill outcomes, including lessons learned and improvements needed.
    • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience: Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in IT systems administration with a focus on Microsoft AD, Exchange, File Shares, SharePoint, MSSQL, and Windows patch management.
    • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Exchange Server, Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Specialist, Microsoft Certified: SQL Server, or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server are preferred.
    • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory architecture and administration.
    • Expertise in managing Microsoft Exchange Server environments.
    • Experience with file share technologies and access management.
    • Proficiency in administering SharePoint environments, including version upgrades and troubleshooting.
    • Proven experience in managing MSSQL Server databases, including migrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery.
    • Strong skills in Windows patch management and security.
    • Proven experience in planning and executing migrations, upgrades, disaster recovery setups, backups, restores, and DR drills for the above applications.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with cloud-based services and hybrid environments.
    • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
    • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
