The training Coordinator (Nutrition) will be responsible to lead the design, adapt, develop training resource material and roll-out capacity building initiatives with a primary focus on technical oversight and quality assurance. The position holder is expected to develop result oriented comprehensive plans and ensure timely and effective implementation of formal trainings and other capacity building activities of the target audience. The position holder is expected to ensure compliance with the technical specifications and standards recommended for the implementation of the trainings. The position holder is expected to be aware of the national and internationally approved guidelines and standard operating procedures with respect to management of malnutrition, its prevention and multi-sectoral approaches. The position holders is also expected to advocate for the adoption and adaptation of tools and frameworks approved by WHO, ECHO, UNICEF, CDC, ENN, nutrtion cluster and NNWG in Pakistan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop tools for training needs assessments for all positions, entities and functions involved directly or indirectly in project activities.
  • Undertake need assessment exercise by rolling out the need assessment tools. Consolidate the need assessments to conclude the priority areas for capacity building of staff, communities and other stakeholders. Assess the behavioral component impacting the competency of staff and service providers.
  • Develop and roll-out the system assessments for the identification of areas of improvement impacting the capacity and competency of staff, service provider and community-based volunteers.
  • Develop district level comprehensive and detailed implementation plans, monitoring plans and operational plans ensuring gender sensitivities and equity for all trainings/ capacity building initiatives.
  • Develop the training resource material for trainers and trainees in the form of presentations, booklets, IEC material and resource guide with adaptation of content from approved and accredited sources.
  • Develop quality assurance mechanisms for trainings/ capacity building workshops. Undertake an assessment of content quality and ensures the participatory learning through introduction of participatory methodologies. Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability throughout the training workshops. Ensure prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation by establishing the reporting channels and capacity building of trainers and trainees.
  • Develop training monitoring tools and ensure roll-out to seek inputs for inputs for improvement covering infrastructural, technical, and administrative aspects. Develop pre and post test tools, training evaluation forms and trainee feedback and response templates.
  • Ensure timely reporting of status of planning and execution of training activities aligned with expectations and agreed milestones, timelines and set of indicators.
  • Provide coaching and technical supervision to the planner and implementers of the capacity building, in order to develop harmonized understanding and accuracy in execution.
  • Prepare budgets for capacity building activities and ensures the all expenses are according to budget line meeting the organizational standards with regard to financial management, including accountability and transparency.
  • Provide generic guidance on nutrition related interventions to the provincial counterparts, Public, partners, Civil Society Organizations-CSOs and Community Based Organization-CBOs.
  • Participate in discussions with provincial and district level partners, clients and stakeholders to promote nutrition, including nutrition emergency preparedness and response, for maternal, adolescent, newborn
  • Contribute in building an effective partnership with nutrition sector government counterparts, community representatives and provincial stakeholders through active sharing of information and knowledge for the purpose of capacity building.
  • Maintain the data of capacity building workshops and beneficiaries including the beneficiary details in approved databases with protection of data and safety of means of verification in place for subsequent use during audits.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS

Qualifications:

  • An advanced university degree (Master's or above) in one of the following fields is required: Human Nutrition, Public Health, Community Health, Development Studies or Anthropology
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, nutrition program planning and management, or maternal, infant and Child health/nutrition care.
  • Relevant experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in in an organization is an asset.

  • Proven track record of experience in health and nutrition programs
  • Prior experience of capacity building and advocacy

  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Knowledge and experience of health/nutrition soft wares and packages
  • Proposal writing skills
