The Experienced Travel Agent will be responsible for assisting clients with their travel plans, including flights, accommodations, and other travel-related services. This role requires direct communication with airlines, updating and managing payments, and ensuring all travel arrangements are accurately and efficiently handled. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the travel industry, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Consultation: Consult with clients to understand their travel needs and preferences. Provide expert advice on destinations, travel routes, accommodations, and other travel-related services.
  • Travel Arrangements: Plan, book, and confirm travel arrangements including flights, hotels, car rentals, tours, and other travel services.
  • Airline Liaison: Communicate directly with airlines to arrange flights, handle special requests, manage changes, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Payment Management: Update and manage payments, ensuring that all transactions are processed accurately and timely. Handle client billing inquiries and ensure payment discrepancies are resolved efficiently.
  • Documentation: Prepare and distribute travel documents, itineraries, tickets, and invoices. Ensure all travel documents are correct and delivered to clients in a timely manner.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire travel planning process. Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Travel Insurance: Offer and process travel insurance policies as per clients' requirements.
  • Travel Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, new destinations, and travel advisories to provide informed recommendations to clients.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or emergencies that may arise during the clients' travels, ensuring their satisfaction and safety.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, client interactions, and other relevant information.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Travel Agent or in a related role within the travel industry.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in using travel booking systems (e.g., GDS such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of travel regulations, customs, and currencies.
  • Familiarity with international travel requirements, including visas and passports.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Travel Associate (CTA), Certified Travel Counselor (CTC)) are a plus.
