Job Purpose:

The Project Engineer will coordinate and manage the engineering and technical components of the PAPK WASH project.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Assist project engineer in collaborating with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of project construction materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
  2. Develop Drawings, design and preparation of BoQs according of the project components.
  3. Analyze infrastructural designs and BoQs proposed from community and Donor organizations and provide recommendations; Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
  4. Supervises the process and progress of the project through periodic visits.
  5. Facilitate the project engineer to compare the actual cost of the project with the estimates.
  6. Assist the project engineer in analyzing equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
  7. Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.
  8. Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
  9. Assist the project engineer in collaborating with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  10. Facilitate the project engineer to supervise and support the technical team of the project.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned by the project engineer.
  12. Review feedback received from the field and ensure its standard as per SOPs for submission to the project engineer.

Required Qualification:

  1. BSc/B-Tech/DAE civil engineering.
  2. AutoCAD/2D/3D and project management software

Required Experience/Skills:

  1. One to Three (03) years of proven experience with National and International NGOs
  2. Three years of experience in monitoring and evaluating WASH in emergencies, and PATS projects.
  3. Having high-level computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, data management, infographics)
  4. Excellent report writing, case studies, project briefs, and infographic skills.
  5. Having excellent knowledge of Beneficiaries and program participants Safeguarding.
  6. Awareness of UNICEF operational policies and procedures desired
  7. Experience working with UNICEF is an added advantage.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills.
  10. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  12. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  13. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  14. Basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements

Travel Requirement:

The job requires approximately 60 % to 80 % to travel to carry out assigned responsibilities within the coverage area (District Sujawal). Traveling to field areas is a significant responsibility organization candidate must be willing and able to travel.
