Job Purpose:
The Project Engineer will coordinate and manage the engineering and technical components of the PAPK WASH project.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist project engineer in collaborating with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of project construction materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.
- Develop Drawings, design and preparation of BoQs according of the project components.
- Analyze infrastructural designs and BoQs proposed from community and Donor organizations and provide recommendations; Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.
- Supervises the process and progress of the project through periodic visits.
- Facilitate the project engineer to compare the actual cost of the project with the estimates.
- Assist the project engineer in analyzing equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
- Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.
- Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
- Assist the project engineer in collaborating with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.
- Facilitate the project engineer to supervise and support the technical team of the project.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the project engineer.
- Review feedback received from the field and ensure its standard as per SOPs for submission to the project engineer.
Required Qualification:
- BSc/B-Tech/DAE civil engineering.
- AutoCAD/2D/3D and project management software
Required Experience/Skills:
- One to Three (03) years of proven experience with National and International NGOs
- Three years of experience in monitoring and evaluating WASH in emergencies, and PATS projects.
- Having high-level computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, data management, infographics)
- Excellent report writing, case studies, project briefs, and infographic skills.
- Having excellent knowledge of Beneficiaries and program participants Safeguarding.
- Awareness of UNICEF operational policies and procedures desired
- Experience working with UNICEF is an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements
Travel Requirement:
The job requires approximately 60 % to 80 % to travel to carry out assigned responsibilities within the coverage area (District Sujawal). Traveling to field areas is a significant responsibility organization candidate must be willing and able to travel.
