The Medical Annotator / Medical Imaging Specialist plays a critical role in annotating, labeling, and analyzing medical images to support research, AI development, and machine learning projects. The specialist will work closely with data scientists, radiologists, and clinicians to ensure high-quality annotations that will be used in developing advanced medical imaging algorithms. Accuracy, attention to detail, and collaboration with healthcare professionals are essential for this role.


Responsibilities
  • Review and annotate medical images (such as CT, MRI, X-ray, and ultrasound) by identifying and labeling key structures, abnormalities, and regions of interest.
  • Use specialized annotation tools and software to ensure accurate labeling of medical data.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinical experts to validate and refine annotations, ensuring they meet clinical standards.
  • Organize and manage large sets of medical images and related data, ensuring proper documentation and storage.
  • Ensure the accuracy and consistency of annotations across different imaging modalities.
  • Maintain an organized workflow to track progress, changes, and revisions in data annotation.
  • Perform quality control checks on annotated datasets, ensuring they meet predefined standards and guidelines.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or errors in medical images or annotations to the project lead or clinical experts.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) when handling medical data.
  • Work closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and clinicians to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality annotated data.
  • Participate in regular review sessions to discuss progress, address challenges, and refine annotation techniques.
  • Provide feedback on the annotation tools and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in medical imaging technologies and AI-based annotation tools.
  • Participate in continuous learning activities, such as attending workshops, seminars, or online courses related to medical imaging and annotation.
