ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:

Qatar Charity (QC) is a Doha-Qatar based International Non-Governmental Organization. Since the inception of QC services in Pakistan early 1992, the organization reflect its greater scope of work to respond to extreme poverty and the Government’s priorities. QC through its field offices enabled itself to strategically address the developmental and humanitarian needs at the very local level. QC is undertaking programmes associated with the socio-economic development of the Country. The projects are categorized under six programme pillars: Youth Leadership & Social Protection, Education, Provision of WASH, Health (with a focus on MNCH), Economic Empowerment & Sustainable Livelihood (EESL) and Disaster Response & Preparedness (DRP), along with its Seasonal Programs like meat distribution, Ramadhan program etc. In Pakistan, Qatar Charity is having its country office in Islamabad and field offices in KPK, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, and AJK.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

With financial support from WFP and under the guidance of IRMNCH&N program of Government of Punjab, Qatar Charity is providing human resource management support for the implementation of BISP Nashonuma Program in selected districts of Punjab. QC is handling the entire cycle of human resource management of BISP Nashonuma Program staff in the selected districts of Punjab, which will include recruiting, performance management and payroll processing etc. Working as a facilitator for IRMNCH program, Qatar Charity’s role is to focus only on the HR functions of the facilitation centers in the targeted districts, wherein IRMNCH&N program and WFP are providing the strategic leadership, operational management, and implementation of the BISP Nashonuma Program.

Job Summary: 

The Social Organizer (SO) will be based in the assigned Facilitation Centre (FC) and will work as part of a team implementing the BISP Nashonuma Program activities in his/her assigned FC. The Social Organizer (SO) will be responsible to create awareness among the community regarding BISP Nashonuma Program. Through sessions, the SO will encourage and stimulate community members to organize for action aimed at solving their problems and to plan, implement and monitor action that they define themselves. Keeping close coordination with QC country office (program and HR departments) would also be required for this position. The official duty timings will be 08:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday 0830- 13:00 (Hospital general OPD timing) during all working (06) days except for, Sundays and gazetted holidays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct extensive awareness raising sessions at community level. Deliver the SBCC session to the registered beneficiaries as desired with help of the video documentary on ANC, PNC, MIYCF child vaccination and use of provided specialized nutritious food -supplements.
  • Conduct the mobilization session on all relevant platforms, while keeping close liaison with the NGOs/development partners active in the areas.
  • Do the follow up of the due follow up registered cases and maintain close liaison with the FC staff.
  • Identify potential leaders and/or activists from community. To motivate the identified leaders/activists to talk to their fellow community about unity and self-reliance. 
  • Provide community leaders/activists with management skills and knowledge in getting community members interested, organized, and motivated.
  • Develop trust, tolerance, and co-operation among community members, to initiate actions aimed at breaking down passivity, apathy, and attitudes of letting others do things for them.
  • Keep close liaison with the LHWs/CHWs/M workers etc for the follow up of the cases.
  • Regularly use computer for data entry and retrieval and assure that reports are accurate and complete.
  • To assist the community in obtaining available outside resources, warning of the negative effects of becoming too dependent upon outside resources. 
  • To encourage and stimulate full participation by all community members; with special attention to those who are usually forgotten, marginalized, and overlooked in community decision making.
  • Collaborate with health facility Staff for the day-to-day implementation of the BISP Nashonuma Program services by developing new measures and/or maintain existing measures as directed.
  • Perform appropriate assessments of IYCF needs and malpractices and do analysis and come up with clear recommendations.
  • Any other task assigned/required by the Facilitation Centre Coordinator or the District Programme Coordinator.
