Organization Summary: Qatar Charity is a Doha-Qatar based International Non-Governmental Organization. Since the inception of QC services in Pakistan early 1992, the organization reflect its greater scope of work to respond to extreme poverty and the Government’s priorities. QC through its field offices enabled itself to strategically address the developmental and humanitarian needs at the very local level. QC is undertaking programmes associated with the socio-economic development of the Country. The projects are categorized under six programme pillars: Youth Leadership & Social Protection, Education, Provision of WASH, Health (with a focus on MNCH), Economic Empowerment & Sustainable Livelihood (EESL) and Disaster Response & Preparedness (DRP), along with its Seasonal Programs like Ramadhan, Qurbani programs etc. In Pakistan, Qatar Charity is having its country office in Islamabad and field offices in KPK, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, and AJK.

Job Summary:

The position holder is responsible for engaging with local communities to promote awareness, enhance capacity building, and drive sustainable development through diverse project activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct community meetings and focus group discussions to raise awareness and encourage participation.
  • Conduct and formation of village development committees
  • Mobilize local groups for project activities (food security, DRR, climate change, etc.).
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions or workshops for community members.
  • Assist in building local community leadership and sustainable structures for long-term impact and resilience. Act as a liaison between the project team, community members, and local stakeholders.
  • Report regularly to the project team on progress, challenges, and community feedback.
  • Support in tracking community-level progress and data collection.
  • Prepare activity reports, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Assist in resolving conflicts or issues within communities that may affect project outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, rural development, community development, or related fields.

Experience:

  •  Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in community mobilization, working with NGOs, or in development projects.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the local context, customs, and language in Sindh.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, especially women and children.
  • Proficiency in local languages (Sindhi, Balochi and Barohi is preferable.

Duration & Contract Terms

Contract Duration:

  • September to December 2024 with the possibility of extension based on performance and project funds.
