We are looking for applicants for the position of Machine operator Husky for Quality Plastics (U) Ltd.

The Machine Operator for HUSKY machines in our manufacturing company plays a crucial role in the production of PET preforms. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining HUSKY machines, ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality PET preforms according to company standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery when required and ensure conformance of systems requirements.
  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start production cycle in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Follow work instructions in the job sheet before starting in order to avoid mistakes
  • Ensure satisfactory production of finished goods in terms of right quality and quantity and ensure products are manufactured in a hygienic environment.
  • Perform periodic checks on equipment and solve problems as detected to ensure the process delivers its intended result.
  • Ensure that no food / eats are taken inside production, packing, loading and storage area which may lead to contamination of material/ products.
  • Consistently check on the quality of product to confirm the accuracy to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Filling the daily report form with accurate information.
  • Report to the supervisor any maintenance work due and assist maintenance team to carry out PPM if required.
  • Report on the performance of the implemented systems and recommend the supervisors opportunities for improvement.
  • Take corrective actions to address any issues with the production process or product quality.
  • Control excessive production of wastage during product realization and transfer.
  • Report any Machine problems or breakdown to the supervisor by issuing maintenance request form and follow up.
  • Adhere to company health safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Production Supervisor.
  • Training the machine helpers in basic machine operational skills, food safety requirements and the use of PPE and ensure promotion of customer focus throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the working environment is clean and tidy at all times.
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products as well as maintaining activity logs.
  • Ensure finished product are packed/ wrapped in a hygienic manner with labels on them for easy identification and traceability.
  • Maintain accurate production records and logs.
  • Report production data to the Supervisor as required.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Industrial diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Minimum Higher Secondary
  • Previous experience of atleast 2 years as a machine operator, preferably with HUSKY machines or similar PET preform manufacturing equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
  • Multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lift and move objects up to certain weight
  • Manual dexterity for machine operation and maintenance tasks.
  • This position involves working in a manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, temperature variations, etc.
  • Ability to work in factory environment wearing PPE as may be required by the job.
