We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Truck Dispatch Manager to join our team. The Truck Dispatch Manager will oversee the daily operations of our trucking fleet, ensuring efficient scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring of deliveries. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of logistics, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Dispatch Operations:

    • Assign trucks and drivers to routes, considering factors such as delivery deadlines, driver hours of service regulations, and customer requirements.
    • Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments.
    • Monitor and adjust routes as necessary to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
  2. Communication and Coordination:

    • Serve as the main point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding dispatch activities.
    • Communicate effectively to ensure all stakeholders are informed of shipment statuses and any changes to schedules or routes.
  3. racking and Monitoring:

  • Utilize GPS and other tracking systems to monitor truck locations and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Address any issues or delays proactively to minimize disruptions in service.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure drivers adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and address any violations promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver logs and compliance documentation.

5.Problem Solving:

  • Resolve operational issues such as traffic delays, mechanical breakdowns, or scheduling conflicts.
  • Implement contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure smooth operations.

6.Training and Development:

  • Provide training and guidance to dispatch staff and drivers on company procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professionalism within the dispatch team.

7.Performance Management:

    • Analyze key metrics to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of dispatch operations.

    8. Budget Oversight:

    • Manage expenses related to fuel, maintenance, and other operational costs.
    • Ensure expenditures stay within budgetary constraints and seek opportunities for cost optimization

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in truck dispatching or logistics management, preferably in [specify industry].
