The Recruitment Officer is responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring that the organization attracts, hires, and retains the best talent. This role involves collaborating with department heads to understand staffing needs, creating job descriptions, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and managing the offer process. The Recruitment Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the organization’s workforce remains robust and aligned with its strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sourcing Candidates:

    • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates for various roles.
    • Utilize online recruitment platforms, social media, job fairs, and other channels to source candidates.
    • Build and maintain a talent pipeline for future hiring needs.
  2. Job Posting and Advertising:

    • Create clear and compelling job descriptions and job postings.
    • Advertise job vacancies on various platforms, including job boards, company websites, and social media.
    • Ensure job advertisements comply with legal requirements and reflect the company’s values and culture.
  3. Screening and Shortlisting:

    • Review and screen resumes and applications to identify suitable candidates.
    • Conduct initial phone or video screenings to assess candidate qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
    • Shortlist candidates for interviews with the relevant department managers.
  4. Interview Coordination:

    • Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
    • Prepare and provide interviewers with relevant materials, such as resumes, interview questions, and evaluation forms.
    • Participate in interviews as required and provide feedback on candidates.
  5. Candidate Assessment:

    • Administer and evaluate assessments or tests when applicable.
    • Conduct reference checks and verify candidate credentials, such as education and work history.
    • Assess candidates’ suitability for the role based on qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
  6. Offer Management:

    • Prepare and present job offers to selected candidates.
    • Negotiate salary and other terms of employment in line with company policies.
    • Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires by coordinating with the HR and department teams.
  7. Database and Reporting:

    • Maintain an up-to-date recruitment database and applicant tracking system (ATS).
    • Prepare regular reports on recruitment metrics, such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and sourcing effectiveness.
    • Analyze recruitment data to identify trends and make recommendations for improving recruitment strategies.
  8. Employer Branding:

    • Promote the company as an employer of choice by participating in employer branding activities.
    • Engage with potential candidates through social media and other platforms to build the company’s reputation.
    • Attend career fairs, networking events, and other recruitment-related activities to enhance the company's visibility.
  9. Compliance and Best Practices:

    • Ensure all recruitment activities are compliant with relevant employment laws and regulations.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and talent acquisition.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of recruitment policies and procedures.
  10. Stakeholder Management:

    • Work closely with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs and provide expert advice on hiring strategies.
    • Communicate effectively with candidates to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
    • Collaborate with HR colleagues on broader talent management initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
