We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Import Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing import processes, handling documentation, and coordinating with various stakeholders, including banks and clearing agents. As an Import Manager, you will ensure the smooth and efficient importation of goods, complying with all relevant regulations and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Correspondence with Banks: Maintain regular communication with banks to facilitate the processing of import transactions, including letters of credit and other payment methods.

  • Managing Import Documents: Prepare, review, and manage all necessary import documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international trade regulations.

  • Coordination with Clearing Agents: Liaise with clearing agents to ensure timely and efficient customs clearance of imported goods.

  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all import activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including customs requirements and trade agreements.

  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective import operations.

  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to import shipments, working closely with internal and external parties.

  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of import transactions and prepare regular reports for senior management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in import management or a related field.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations and import procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in import management software and tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with clearing agents and customs brokers
  • Familiarity with international payment methods and banking procedures
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics management
