The CBDRM trainer will be based in Chitral with frequent visits to Project locations in Upper and Lower Chitral; The overall responsibility of the CBDRM trainer is to play the role of planning, leading, and conducting training sessions with communities on different topics. The role also involves capacity building, community mobilization, and documentation to ensure effective knowledge transfer and resilience-building among vulnerable communities.

Objective 1:  Coordination & Information gaining Activities:

  • Represent SIF in community and relevant stakeholders, mobilize and organize available resources to attain project objectives; 
  • Liaise and ensure access to the community, identify potential beneficiaries, and potential training venues;

Objective 2: Conduction of Training Activities:

  • To develop a training reading material manual on CBDRM and CCA intervention, for different training; 
  • Conduct Training needs assessment in communities;
  • Develop a training and session plan for training participants; 
  • Conduct training of CBDRM, SBDRM, First Aid, Rope management, Water rescue management, ICS, EOC, INSARAG, Firefighting and Avalanche search and rescue. independently.
  • Mobilize communities, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), School  Emergency Response Teams (SERTs) and other stakeholders for training sessions.
  • Take the lead to sensitize the communities for CBDRM and CCA and mainstreaming in project activities.
  • Lead the CBDRM and CCA and resilience-building initiatives in the SIF project; 
  • Support capacity development and provide quality assurance to the ongoing SIF projects, in particular, to mainstream DRR into project strategies;
  • Provide strategic and innovative solutions for building more efficient, coordinated, and reliable preparedness and response systems; 
  • Contribute to the integration and adaptation of international CBDRM terminology and approaches in the project; 
  • Develop Disaster Risk Management Plan.

Objective 3: Documentation Activities:

  •  Documentation and record keeping of ongoing activities, identify/suggest potential CBDRM & CCA training interventions at the grassroots level.
  • Documentation of every training session with visuals according to the designed template.
  • Pre-test and post-test should be validated with the line manager, and keep it recorded.
  • Identify and document the most significant cases (case studies);

Objective 4: Reporting Activities:

  • Assist Management with feedback and timely reporting for observation and analysis in field activities and maintaining a database for follow-up impact or lesson Learnt;
  • Pay regular field monitoring and supporting visits as well ensuring proper implementation of planned activities, especially on-the-job support to individuals at the workplace;
