Introduction:
The Construction Site Supervisor will be based at the SIF Office in Jamshoro, Sindh, and will be responsible for implementing project activities related to community infrastructure. The CSS will work under the direct supervision of the WASH Engineer and will be responsible for overseeing the technical feasibility assessments, implementation and monitoring of construction and rehabilitation work. This includes ensuring the timely and safe completion of all assigned tasks while maintaining quality standards and managing site operations efficiently. The CSS will coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all construction activities adhere to plans, specifications, and schedules while working within the available budget, planning resources, and timelines.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan construction/rehabilitation activities under direct supervision of project WASH/Infrastructure Engineer according to project objectives, time-frames and designs.
- Providing technical guidance, training and support to individuals targeted by the project in line with the programme strategy and intended output/s.
- Ensuring quality and quantity of construction material.
- Timely completion of CPI schemes as per BOQ and design.
- Maintain and improve quality results by completing quality assurance tests following standards.
- Ensure on time completion of the tasks in line with BoQs and designs.
- Conduct needs assessment and identify possible solutions and locations for interventions.
- Manage work sites, including ensuring the safety of staff, beneficiaries and supplies.
- Provide support to Project WASH Engineer in the preparation of BoQs and estimations by needs and budget.
- Ensure engineering works are carried out in participation with the Social Mobilization teams.
- Develop a work plan and provide support to the Project Engineer in preparation of material requisitions.
- Ensuring the security of construction materials at site with the support of CBOs.
- Management of CFW skilled and unskilled laborers for execution of work.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management.
- Overall responsible for the quality of work of structural activities.
