About the position:

Based in Quetta, Balochistan the cook works under the direct supervision of the Base HR Officer. He/she is an expert in Cooking for national and expat staff.

He/she is:

  • Responsible for cooking the lunch and dinner for International Staff.
  •  Prepare and serve tea, lunch, snacks to the National staff as scheduled.

Objective 1: Cooking Activities:

  •  Plan for meals and snacks within given budget; procure food items at best quality and best price.
  • Accountable for expenditures, providing supporting valid and authentic receipts to the supervisor
  •  Prepare and serve tea and lunch in accordance with the lunch and tea break timings.      
  • Responsible for maitaining hygiene while cooking food.                                                                  
  • Observe and test food taste to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently and keep the spices aveage, eateable for all the staff.
  • Prepare food for expat Staff.
  • Cook meals according to the number of persons hosted in the guesthouses and the office with the focus on hygiene and quantity must be enough for the staff as required.              
  •  Menu of the lunch and dinner should be made in advance considering the opinions of the supervisor.

 

Objective 2: Kitchen Cleaning and maintenance:

  • Responsible for washing dishes and maintaining them in the kitchen cabinets.      
  •  Organize and maintain the kitchen, kitchen equipment, cooking utensils and dishes in good, complete        and clean order.
  •  Store food properly in the office fridge and expat office/house.       
  •  Ensure the good use of SIF crockery (pans, cooking utensils, cooking items, food).
  • Report all necessary maintenance requests timely to the main office administration on given forms for this purpose.

  • Report any incident or act that causes harm to beneficiaries or to others.
  • Aware of child protection/safeguarding concept.

  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
