Position Summary:

The Field Monitoring Assistant will play a key role in the daily monitoring and evaluation of the School Meal Program by conducting regular visits to schools, collecting and entering data, and ensuring the smooth implementation of the program. The position requires strong attention to detail, data collection skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of the school meal program.

Field Monitoring:

  • Conduct daily visits to schools where meals are provided to monitor the distribution and quality of meals.
  • Ensure compliance with program guidelines and standards during school visits.
  • Observe and report on the condition and cleanliness of meal preparation and serving areas.

Data Collection and Entry:

  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data related to meal distribution, student attendance, and feedback from school staff and students.
  • Use standardized data collection tools to ensure consistency and accuracy in data gathering.
  • Enter collected data into the program's database promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all monitoring activities and findings.

Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring reports to the M&E Officer.
  • Highlight any issues or irregularities observed during field visits and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed analytical reports based on collected data.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of data collected during field visits.
  • Verify and cross-check data to ensure its reliability and validity.
  • Identify areas for improvement in data collection processes and tools.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Work closely with school staff, including teachers and administrators, to facilitate smooth data collection and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with other field monitoring assistants and team members to share insights and best practices.
  • Maintain regular communication with the M&E Officer to provide updates on field activities and findings.

Capacity Building:

  • Participate in training sessions and capacity-building activities organized by the program.
  • Support the M&E Officer in training school staff on data collection and reporting procedures.

Compliance:

  • Ensure all field activities comply with organizational policies, donor requirements, and relevant regulations.
  • Adhere to ethical standards in data collection, including obtaining informed consent and maintaining confidentiality.

Position Type/Working Hours:

This is a full-time position with 40 working hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
