Livelihood and Distribution Assistant will be based in Peshawar and will work under the direct supervision of the Livelihood Officer. He/she will be responsible for looking after the implementation of the  RISE project in the field and will be the focal person for ongoing livelihood activities in Peshawar and Nowshera.

Objective 1: Ensure Smooth Implementation of the SMILE & RAISE Project

Activities:

  • Organize and support the running of livelihood activities in the respective base.
  • Support beneficiary’s identification and selection processes together with Base Livelihoods Teams.
  • Active participation to field assessments (logistic organization, identification of needs, monitoring).
  • Assist in the registration of target families at the Base level working closely with Base  Livelihoods Teams to ensure data is collected and is recorded within the livelihoods programming to be implemented
  • To facilitate community mobilization, meetings and training during community-led FSL activities;
  • To support the Livelihood Officers in the verification of the beneficiaries to ensure the identification and selection of the most vulnerable population;
  • To work closely with Livelihood Officers to follow up on implementation of planned community activities;
  • To organize the community for the implementation of training, social mobilization activities, and distributions;
  • To collect information to ensure the surveillance of the Food Security situation in the area of implementation of the project, when required;
  • To collect the information required during assessments and surveys;
  • To support the preparation of documentation required for the implementation of field activities;
  • To participate actively in initial training sessions and debriefing.
  • Contribute to the identification of suppliers for Voucher Programmes through a fair and transparent process.
  • Participate in the distribution of beneficiary and Shopkeeper Vouchers.
  • Organize venue for training and sensitization of sessions for Shopkeeper, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
  • Make field arrangements for planned visits to project locations
  • Fully participate in Ramadan food, vocational, and business development training, EID gift, and Qurbani Meat distribution.
  • To ensure the quality and quantity of material provided to beneficiaries.

Objective 2: Coordination                                                                       

Activities:

  • Coordinate (or assist respective base Livelihoods Teams in coordinating) activities with local authorities, international community members, other implementing actors and partners at the local level.
  • Keep close coordination with Community leaders.
  • Maintain coordination and appropriate information sharing and communication lines with partners and stakeholders at field level to avoid duplication and maximize synergies.
  • Regularly monitor project activities and provide timely inputs and feedback to the livelihood officer.

Objective 3: Reporting

Activities:

  • Timely submission of daily and weekly Progress updates to the Livelihood officer.
  • Compile and maintain proper record keeping of Project activities in hard files and soft databases.
  • Responsible for maintaining records of internal and external communication including emails, letters, purchase requisitions, and other relevant documents.
  • Contribute to data entry, as needed

 This list is not limited; the employee may be required to perform any other task necessary and compatible with its functions assigned by the supervisor or Base Program Manager-KP.

Knowledge/Skills/Behavior

  • University degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, social sciences, or management sciences with a technical degree/Diploma.
  • At least 3 years of development programs, preferably working in food security & livelihoods and experience distributions.
  • Experience in fieldwork and community organization
  • Experience in conducting training and sensitization sessions for the community and beneficiaries.
  • Excellent computer skills; word, excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Pashto, Urdu, English
  • Good communication skills and team player, as well as the ability to work individually
  • Good command over computer programs.
  • Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours, and capability to work in an insecure environment
