Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Instruction:
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures, laboratory sessions, and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in Pathology, with a focus on Histopathology.
- Prepare and update course materials, including lecture notes, slides, practical manuals, and assessment tools.
- Supervise and assess student performance in practical examinations, assignments, and projects related to Histopathology.
- Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
Diagnostic Services (Histopathology Focus):
- Participate actively in the diagnostic service of the Histopathology laboratory, including gross examination, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and microscopic interpretation of surgical pathology specimens.
- Generate accurate and timely diagnostic reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical-pathological correlation activities.
- Contribute to quality assurance and quality control measures within the Histopathology laboratory.
Research and Scholarly Activity:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in areas related to Histopathology and general Pathology.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Present research at national and international conferences.
- Seek and secure research funding through grant applications.
- Supervise research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Service and Administration:
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees and meetings.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Engage in professional development activities to stay current with advancements in Pathology and Histopathology.
- Participate in outreach activities and professional societies.

Qualifications:

Education:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- PhD in Pathology with a specialization or significant focus in Histopathology.
- Board certification in Pathology (e.g., FCPS, American Board of Pathology, Royal College of Pathologists) with a strong emphasis on Histopathology.
Experience:
- Prior experience in teaching Pathology, particularly Histopathology, at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in diagnostic Histopathology.
- A developing or established research record and publications in peer-reviewed journals related to Pathology/Histopathology.
Skills:
- Diagnostic Histopathology Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge and skills in grossing, processing, interpreting, and reporting a wide range of surgical pathology specimens.
- Teaching & Communication: Excellent teaching skills, including explaining complex concepts clearly and engaging students effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Research Skills: Ability to design, conduct, analyze, and publish research in Pathology/Histopathology.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant laboratory techniques used in Histopathology.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Professionalism & Ethics: Commitment to high ethical and professional standards in all aspects of academic and clinical practice.
