The role of the Technical Expert is to supervise the team in operations, project execution, coordination with the relevant stakeholders, liaison with the government, and facilitate coordination meetings. Technical Expert will technically supervise the relevant staff in the field at SPO offices as required and ensure the safety and security of the friendly spaces.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Attend the detailed orientation/ training session about the assignment organized by SPO
  • The position holder will be based in Islamabad at SPO National Center and oversee project activities across all four regions
  • Deliver training related to GBV referral pathways and minimum standards to project staff, community actors, and community leaders.
  • Provide technical support and training in Gender approaches for various program stakeholders and for all program components.
  • Draft project reports and presentations on activities as requested and provide data analysis
  • Provide support to the team on gender-related issues, concerns, trends, and policies.
  • Ensure project work plan implementation and agreed targets are achieved on time.
  • Develop TORs and facilitate mapping exercises for GBV referral services.
  • Work in close coordination with Head of Programme, and respective regional coordinators to ensure compliance and project deliverables
  • Supervise the overall Project team i.e. Assistant District Coordinators and psycho-social support workers in the field.
  • Data-protection protocols to safeguard the confidentiality and protect those registered from potential protection risks, including violence, discrimination, or stigma
  • Ensure the safety and security of documents/ assets handover to him/her for the assigned task, in case of any loss or damage to an asset he/she should immediately inform the Regional Coordinator.
  • Follow organization policies and guidelines provided to him/her during orientation, in case of any violation of organization policy his/her contract will be terminated with immediate effect and strict action will be taken by the organization.  
  • Establish and strengthen an integrated case referral system between GBV and Mental Health programs
  • Frequent field visits to monitor and supervise the respective staff

Other Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to SPO policies and promote participatory culture and demonstrate SPO’s values
  • Build liaison between relevant field, region and National Centre level
  • Carry out any other activities as assigned by the supervisor

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:

  • Able for extensive field travels
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Good linkages with public and private sectors working in the social sector and GBV, MHPSS health-related projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Sensitive to organization values and principles
  • Skills in English, Urdu, and other local languages are desirable
  • Experience of working with NGO/ Public Sector in the field of Mental Health & GBV
  • Experience in managing projects related to Mental Health / Psycho-Social Counseling
  • Proficient in MS Office, email communication
