WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Social Mobilizer is to facilitate, coordinate, and implement community-based programs and activities aimed at promoting and ensuring access to clean water, improved sanitation, and proper hygiene practices within a given area or community. The primary goal of the WASH Social Mobilizer is to raise awareness, engage community members, and mobilize them to adopt sustainable behaviors and practices related to water, sanitation, and hygiene.
Community Engagement: Engage with local communities, leaders, and stakeholders to understand their specific water, sanitation, and hygiene needs and challenges.
Awareness and Education: Conduct awareness campaigns and educational sessions to promote safe and hygienic practices, emphasizing the importance of clean water, proper sanitation, and good hygiene habits.
Behavior Change: Encourage behavior change through the promotion of positive practices, such as handwashing, safe drinking water storage, and proper waste disposal.
Capacity Building: Empower community members to take ownership of their water and sanitation facilities through training sessions and workshops.
Participatory Approach: Facilitate participatory processes that involve community members in decision-making, planning, and implementation of WASH projects.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the progress and effectiveness of WASH interventions, ensuring that the desired outcomes are achieved and making adjustments as needed.
Collaboration and Networking: Work closely with local authorities, non-governmental organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for WASH initiatives.
Gender and Social Inclusion: Promote gender equality and social inclusion in all WASH activities, ensuring that vulnerable and marginalized groups have equal access to WASH services.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the progress of activities and submit them to relevant supervisors or organizations.
Advocacy: Advocate for increased funding and support for WASH projects and initiatives, both at the community level and with higher-level authorities.
Undertakes any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
