The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services required by the organization. The role involves ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and timely delivery of materials to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with reliable suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or compliance.
Procurement Process:
- Develop and execute procurement plans in alignment with organizational needs.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and documentation.
- Ensure purchased items meet the required specifications and quality standards.
Cost Management:
- Monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing.
Inventory Coordination:
- Work closely with the inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Address and resolve discrepancies in stock levels or supplier deliveries.
Compliance:
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of purchases, pricing, and vendor agreements.
Collaboration:
- Liaise with internal departments to understand material needs and timelines.
- Support budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate cost estimates for procurement.
