You will be responsible for preparing and baking traditional Syrian bread, such as khubz (flatbread), pita, and other regional varieties. This role involves following authentic recipes, ensuring quality and consistency, and managing the production of bread in a professional kitchen or bakery setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Bread Preparation:

    • Prepare and knead dough for Syrian bread varieties, using traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients.

    • Follow standard recipes to ensure consistency in texture, taste, and appearance.

    • Ensure the proper fermentation process for dough to achieve the desired flavor and texture.

  2. Baking:

    • Bake the bread at the correct temperature, ensuring a perfectly cooked product.

    • Monitor oven temperatures and baking times for optimal results.

    • Adjust baking techniques as needed to maintain consistency and quality.

  3. Quality Control:

    • Ensure the bread meets quality standards in terms of texture, appearance, and flavor.

    • Check ingredients for freshness and proper storage to ensure high-quality bread production.

    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery, including baking equipment and workstations.

  4. Customer Service:

    • Assist in packaging and delivering bread to customers or vendors.

    • Respond to customer feedback, ensuring satisfaction with the bread's quality.

  5. Inventory and Supply Management:

    • Assist with managing inventory of ingredients, ensuring supplies are always available for production.

    • Place orders for necessary ingredients and equipment when required.

  6. Health and Safety Compliance:

    • Follow all health and safety regulations in the kitchen or bakery, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

    • Adhere to hygiene standards in food preparation, handling, and storage.

  7. Collaboration and Training:

    • Work with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

    • Train junior staff or apprentices on bread preparation and baking techniques.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a baker, preferably with experience in Middle Eastern or Syrian bread-making.

  • Knowledge of traditional Syrian bread recipes and techniques.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure consistent quality.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dough proofers.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Capable of lifting and moving heavy ingredients or equipment.

  • Manual dexterity to knead dough and handle baking equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Culinary training in baking or a related field.
